Blank Canvas Panic
When homeowners see a big, empty, white apartment, they panic. But the interior designer gets excited… I guess that’s why we have jobs. And the Boston interior designer gets even more excited when travel is involved, it’s always fun to take this party down to New York City.
Say hello to our latest project—a brand-new construction apartment (building) on the Upper East Side. Nice views, chic finishes, and soon to be filled with a cool mix of furniture and decor—some new, some vintage, all awesome. We have custom furniture, lighting and upholstery and a collection of colorful, contemporary, and fun art. Right now, it’s literally just empty rooms, but I think you’ll still appreciate the potential. In the meantime, check out the building where this pied-à-terre is located.
The Ultimate (Urban) Views
Nothing complements big oversized windows like big oversized window treatments. We’ve got to keep our new interiors from bleaching out in the sun. Not worried about privacy here, 20th floor problems. But we’re still adding floor-to-ceiling linen drapery panels—our favorite window look. The clean, light oak floors have zero stain and a matte finish – a top request from our new clients, especially in our urban interior projects.
This room will be a living and dining combo, flowing right into a super chic kitchen. We have a custom bench, leather dining chairs, and a custom masterpiece from Abner Henry in the dining room. In the living room, upholstered slipper chairs and a posh velvet lounge chair. Our Verellen sofa will be wrapped in a striped fabric… and we CANNOT wait for these items to arrive.

Custom Lights, Custom Furniture, Custom Everything
We can’t take credit for the kitchen and bath designs, but we will take credit for the finishing touches that are soon coming. There’s much more to this apartment than kitchen and bath design. Picture Roll & Hill lighting over the island, Urban Electric jewels in the corridor, and Thibaut, Christopher Farr, Zak & Fox, & Schumacher wallcoverings adding some serious style – that’s a lot of paper. And let’s not forget the posh Holly Hunt counter stools. With a kitchen this beautiful as our starting point, the final product can only get better.

Tiny Bathroom, Big Plans (and Pro Travel Tips)
The primary bath—definitely not a bad start! Sure, New York City bathrooms are small, but we’ll find a way to pack in some luxury interior design details. Clients ask us to bring personality to new construction homes, and we are here for the challenge. And there I am on the right… Pro tip: If you’re making a day trip to NYC, I highly recommend Vuori joggers—perfect for the Acela ride from Boston. Joggers, runners, light layers… I’ve got the Amtrak day trip down to a science. Super excited for this new opportunity in the SECOND greatest city on earth (spoken like a true Boston girl). We love trekking to Lenox Hill for new projects, stay tuned for the final reveal in Spring 2025… Contemporary interiors are in the making.
