Main Street, Hingham

SERVICES: KITCHEN + BATH DESIGN; DECORATE & STYLE
AS SEEN IN NEW ENGLAND HOME MAGAZINE

Collaborating with the architect (Estes, Twombly, & Titrington), the studio helped to create a pool house that also serves as a guest house for a contemporary home in Hingham. We carefully selected materials that offered durability while harmonizing with both the exterior and interior finishes of the structure and pre-existing landscape design.

The kitchen features light grey metal cabinets complemented by a white backsplash, red cedar wood accents surround the refrigerator and tall pantry, extending up the wall and onto the ceiling. A pair of islands, one designated for preparing drinks and the other for dining, occupy the adjacent space with an outdoor grill conveniently nearby. The dining area is centrally located within the kitchen, anchored with an area rug and furnished with weather resistant pieces.  Inside,  the living room features two facing couches, one of which doubles as a pullout bed. A unique lounge chair can be rotated to face either the indoor gas fireplace and TV or the pool area outdoors. An additional outdoor seating area sits between the new structure and the pool itself.

The bathroom, accessible from both inside and outside the house, features a shower making it suitable as a guest house. An accent wall of handmade tiles from Morocco adds character, coordinating with shiplap walls and teak floor slats.
