BOSTON

Explore photos of our Concord project before its interior reveal in Boston Home Magazine this winter. We transformed the space by removing screened panels, unveiling an open-air porch with a fireplace and comfy furniture. A daybed sits atop original brick pavers, with a new adjacent patio featuring a geometric bluestone design. The patio includes a dining area and a firepit with sofas, offering garden views.

Landscape architect Gail Alden designed a simple rectangular pool with grass surroundings, while a historic garden wall was preserved. The studio added modern furnishings to create livable spaces.

A historic Concord home underwent modest renovations, preserving its original architectural details while updating each space with contemporary furnishings and modern art. The exterior spaces were designed for comfortable outdoor living, starting with the addition of a new pool, featuring a simple grass surround, designed by Gail Alden. Enhancements to the existing historic garden area show off a unique water feature and stair, accented with folding chairs that are easily moved from one outdoor space to the next.

At the original covered porch, screened walls were removed while we maintained the classic columns and 125-year-old brick pavers, all surrounding a wood-burning fireplace. New sofas and a hanging daybed are perfect for lounging. An adjacent bluestone patio was installed in a modern grid pattern, creating space for al fresco dining area and a cozy sitting area around a gas firepit.

Stay tuned for an in-depth look at the interior, to be featured in Boston Home Magazine, Winter 2025.
