The studio created a welcoming open living and dining area within a recently refurbished historic brownstone. Coordinating with the original architectural charm and clean white walls, the decorating project seamlessly integrates contemporary furnishings tailored for a youthful family.
An expansive area rug spans the entirety of the space, unifying both the dining and formal sitting areas. Adjacent to the kitchen, the dining room features a midcentury-modern console, dining table, and chairs, anchored by the original marble fireplace on one side. At the opposite end of the space, a bespoke sofa mirrors the brownstone's curvature, complemented by additional midcentury accents such as a Saarinen table and a Womb chair, reupholstered in an off-white boucle fabric.
What's not immediately evident is the meticulous selection of family-friendly materials, furniture, and fabrics, ensuring a space that's not only visually striking but also durable and functional. The studio finished the space with accents pillows, decor, and fine art.
