Playful, Practical, and Built to Last: Kid-Friendly Bathroom Design
In these kid-focused bath spaces, we’ve designed rooms that can handle the chaos of splashy mornings and toothpaste explosions. The interior design is still inviting, practical, and stylish. From playful tiles and bold colors to durable materials that stand the test of time (and little hands), here’s how we created kid-friendly bathrooms that both parents and kids can love.
Classic 70s Wallpaper & Whimsical Art
Remember the 70s? Neither do these kids, but they sure do love the wallpaper. In this modern interior design concept, we brought in a retro twist with classic 1970s Hinson wallpaper featuring splashes of blue that make it look like a toddler took charge of the paintbrush (in the best way possible). The simple and white cabinetry keeps things from getting too wild, and we kept the fun going with a vintage runner and whimsical art prints. This bath definitely falls under the ‘kids’ spaces with character’ category. See more of this Hingham home interior spaces here!
Clean, Simple, and Bursting with Color – New Build Interior Design
For a modern new construction design, we kept the basement bath sleek and simple. But not without its fun touches. Working with existing white cabinetry and neutral light fixtures, we added coordinating wallpaper with neutral colors and a graphic pattern. The kids’ artwork brings the party, and we love that pop of color. A brilliant grass green Roman shade from Pierre Frey that demands attention. Striped, colorful towels from Design Within Reach round out the playful but not-too-crazy vibe. See more photos of this Hingham interior design here.
Three Unique Bathrooms, One Historic Home Design
What’s better than one kid-friendly bathroom? Three. In our South Street Hingham project, this historic home got not one, not two, but three totally unique bathroom designs. First up: a shared bath with a trough sink—because if you’ve got a bunch of kiddos trying to brush their teeth at the same time, you’ll need the extra space. The ensuite bath takes a bold leap with blue tile that climbs the shower walls And then there’s the attic bath—small but mighty—with black wallpaper, black penny tile flooring, and black shower wall tiles, showing that even the smallest spaces can have big design moments. The final colors, wallpaper, and even the art selection (all selected through a collaborative process) create truly personal interiors for our clients. More Hingham Modern – New Build Design
Designing a kid-proof bathroom that can handle the daily splash zone while still looking stylish… Done and done. The teak slatted floor brings a touch of warmth and durability that laughs off puddles and spills. Shiplap walls stretch up to the ceiling for a crisp, clean look, while a bold Moroccan geometric tile adds a playful accent. We chose shades of blue, green, and grey to mimic the pool just outside—bringing a refreshing, water-inspired palette indoors. See more of this modern pool house here.
Kid-Friendly Bathroom Design That Works for Everyone
In the end, a well-designed kids’ bath doesn’t have to sacrifice style for practicality. With a few thoughtful choices, it can be a space that works for everyone—no clutter, no chaos, just a bathroom that keeps things clean (mostly) and looks good doing it. Simple, right? with all these projects located in 02043, you would think a Hingham interior designer did the job – but we are a Boston interiors firm, traveling from the city to the south shore, to the cape and islands… and beyond.
